I shot this pretty, yet modern, home for Style at Home a few months ago along with Kate, Heather and Peter. It's featured in the current issue on news stands now. The house certainly was lovely but to me, it was all about the family that lives there. It's so nice to work with humans and not just a collection of rooms. Amir, Laura, Chloe and Charlotte added even more energy and "oomph" to the shoot. Little Chloe, was a sweetie and very cooperative for a 3 year old. Gotta love that happy hair of hers!

Back to the rooms. They were pretty fantastic. A nice mix of pretty and modern. I tend to lean more towards the modern, myself. Loved the kitchen and the beautiful light fixture over the dining table.

That's it for today. Have a lovely day bloggers!

Wow- you shot this article? I LOVED that house (and yes, mostly because of the family) and now I'm so excited to say that I "know" the photographer! Great work!
I think it's nice when home magazines include the people who live in the homes in the photos.
The living room is so pretty. Love all the shots of turquoise.
Very nice shoot! I love seeing real people in interiors shots - in a way the rooms, no matter how lovely, are nothing without their personalities.
Cute! What a fun job you must have! I like the nursery...pink, but not too too girly!
Good Show Janis,
A Gorgeous shoot! I love the look of the rooms (the white with turquoise touches)and the happy inhabitants. Thanks for the preview.

I like the light color of the walls and of most furniture items. It makes all look more spacious and pleasant to the eye.

I should have guessed. I loved that spread. I've spent at least three mornings reading it over cups of coffee...think I'll do it again tomorrow morning with a new appreciation.
Fantastic photos and place! That little girl is adorable and her room is perfection! Nice to know the folks who dwell within such a lovely space are equally lovely.
Hm, I think I saw this article on FB a few days ago!?
I like the house(what we can see of it), and your work on the photos is amazing, good choice of angle which combined with the natural daylight makes it all look even better! :)
PS: The little girl really has a delightful smile!
You're lucky! What a gorgeous home!

The combination of white, turquoise and touches of pink is beautiful... it's amazing how splashes of color can transform an otherwise cold color into a welcoming setting. I love what they did with the children's room wall!
Lovely home! i love the wall decal in the nursery.
Just letting you know, i've given you an award!

I so love that you said it's all about the family who lives there. This philosophy is obvious in your photographs, and it makes the whole shoot come to life in such a wonderful way. What a beautiful house, and you've captured it with style and care. Just lovely. xo Gigi
Nice job Janice! Love the blues they chose too - nice accents.
