Nerissa Goco is the designer of these beautiful bags. Check out their shop here.
See more of the Cross here.
This fun "guerilla gardening" workshop was put on by Aloe Designs. Guest speaker was author and blogger, Andrea Bellamy. Hands in this pic belong to Aynsley Tanner, my partner in seed bomb making. I can't wait to start tossing these randomly throughout the city.
This book is so helpful if you have just a tiny space to work with. I've shot Andrea in her tiny garden for Sunset magazine - it's incredible how many edibles she grows.
What did you get up to this weekend? Hope it was a fun one!
Back soon,
Janis

If it isn't giving away trade secrets, how did you do your Chinatown shot? Instagram? Something else?
Love reading your posts on local shops and people - it's a HUGE help to me getting reacquainted with Vancouver again after all these years.
Seed bombs - great idea...so subversive and so west coast!
Ohh I love that bag!! The splash of color along the bottom is fabbb
Eek! That purse is amaaaaazing.
I love coloured doors and that red one is spectacular.
I had a pretty lovely / busy weekend. I visited the Fam Jam. I love escaping the city to spend time with my nephew and family while I work. It always rejuvenates me ;)

I love that doorway and where it leads.... there is space that would be our ultimate office... but sadly they don't want it to be used!
Sandra, that one was instagram. I use all kinds of methods to get the effects I want, like lensbaby, low depth of field and good ol' photoshop. All depends!
considered, that is sad. It's such a great spot.
Amy, your "fam jam" sounds fun! Glad you had a good weekend.
Kara, you had a bonfire? Lucky you. We can't do that around here. Boo hoo.
it was!!!! great weekend with a friend from Saigon that visited us!!!!! xoxo
what a nice bag! i love the thought of an "overnight bag".
and what a fun workshop! you can throw a couple of bombs in my backyard if you like..........;)
Had a great weekend! Went for a ride on the back of a motorcycle. It was just warm enough. I would love to have a little garden...I think I'll check out that book! Thanks!
What a great new bag! Love it...off to check out The New Domestic shop now! And seed bomb making class? How fun! Might have to try that out with the kiddies some day soon! Fun weekend :) ~Lily
A seed bomb workshop! That's amazing. We're making those as wedding favours. If you have any tips on what to use/best way to make them I'd love to hear it!
Janis, thank you so much for your lovely comment yesterday, it made my day :-)
i just love to read your blog!!!
i'm a big fan of your photography work.
i totally understand why you got that bag, it is lovely and so shouting summer. the yellow is just fantastic.
love that last pic...
have a great day. {looking forward to your baked post ;-)}
Great pics - love that red door! Your new bag is awesome - loving that yellow bottom on it and I'm drooling over that pink tufted chair :)
Gardening! I spent the weekend in the garden mostly. My 1920's herritage house deserves a beautiful garden. It seems as though it's been neglected since the 50's! I love the seed bombs, I can just see myself spreading those all over Vancouver!
I'm in love with your new bag!
xo
