A few bits of my weekend...
The best bit is that is was for no special reason, and paid for with their own money. Love that.
Butter is a beautiful, and delicious, bakery here in Vancouver. Their amazing marshmallows are sold all over North America and now Japan! Rosie Daykin is the multi-talented owner of Butter Baked Goods, and writer of this book, published by Random House. My first house shoot ever was with her for House and Home. I've since gone on to shoot her stunning garden for Vogue Living Australia, and Rosie herself for the cover of Canadian Home and Country. I can't wait to work with her on this huge project (99 recipes) and learn more about the book publishing world.
That's it for today! Have a great day.
Back soon,
Janis

First the important bit - congratulations on the gig with Butter! It'll be a great cookbook with your visuals.
And I LOVE the table from Cross. Must get over there and grab one - and love just as much the Living Etc. mag on top. Isn't that the best decor mag?!!!
janis that is brilliant! i can't wait to see what you do together. xx
Aw, your nephews are so sweet. :3
And I adore that table! I wonder if it would cast floral shadows on a very sunny day.
What the F...? Wow, congratulations!
And seeing your accompanying images in your baked series, the book will have the best illustrations she can ask for! *hugs*
The potato masher is adorable..I think those boys enjoy Auntie's cooking.
Fabulous news about the Butter book. I have always been a huge fan of Rosie Daykin and actually miss seeing her houses in our Canadian mags. I can;t think of a better collaboration for the book. I can't wait to buy a copy.
What a fantastic project! I'm so excited for you!
Congratulations on the cookbook project! I've admired Butter from a distance for some time and always wanted to visit in person. Hopefully that will happen sometime, but a cookbook is certainly another lovely way to live vicariously. ;)

Janis, love the weekend observations - i sure haven't been great about commenting lately but have loved reading all your shares and goings on. girl, anything from the Cross just deserves a public declaration of L-O-V-E right?! your latest scoop up is awesome, the shadow play that thing will produce is gonna be terrific, can't wait till you photograph it.
the most exciting thing here, for me, is that you're working with Rosie's brand, i went to high school with her and her brothers. small world! the thing i remember the most was an incredible toga party she had, those were righteous times indeed ;)
seeing her Butter brand grow the way it has is rad, always knew she'd be involved in greatness later on in life. cool insight about how long you've known her too, she did the interior design for my parents many moons ago and has such a killer eye for style! as do you!! cheers on this collaboration, i'm sure it will be a timeless celebration of goodness. xo ♥
