Sunday Observations

A fantastic mid-century shop called "Wow", here in Vancouver.

That was a little of my Sunday. Got up early to watch the 9•11anniversary event, hung out in the garden, looked for bedside tables, and played with my film cameras.  What did you get up to? Hope you had a perfect weekend!

Sunday Observations

Did you have a nice weekend? Hope so! I've been making pizza dough to freeze, and doing heaps of laundry. Pizza dough, fun. Laundry, not fun. Here are a few other things I got up to today...

What did you do today? If you're in Vancouver, are you pinching yourself over this beautiful late summer weather?

Sunday Observations

Hope you all had a nice weekend. It was pretty quiet for us, just lots of clean-up from my camping trip.

Here's a little bit of my Sunday....

If you're in the Vancouver area, I hope you'll check out this shop. They are at the corner of East 10th Avenue and Kingsway, and they'll be there until the end of August. They carry handmade creations by Henderson Dry Goods, Herriott Grace, Megan Hubert, to name a few, and the owners themselves, Hanahlie and Caleb, are the talents behind the grizzly bears, sofa and calendars.

What did you do today? Hope it was a good one!

Sunday Observations

Hope you've had a lovely weekend! It continues for some of us, here in Canada...yeah!

This is what went on around here today. Once again, niece Annika was in our care. Poor child. I had to get heaps ready to go on a little camping trip, hence all the taffy (coming up). Anything to keep her entertained.

That's about that. Have to get back to making camp food. What did you get up to today?

Sunday Observations

What a fantastic weekend. It's been sunny, and I became an auntie for the 10th time! How was your weekend? What did you get up to?

The day started off with an early morning shoot at Granville Island with my husband. We're working on a project for a hotel so it was pretty fun, though a tad early. ;)

I finally found a new bag for my 17" macbook pro. I have to haul it around to my shoots, so it had to be roomy and sturdy.  A little better than the actual computer's box that I've been toting. Love the stripes!

We were hanging out with one of our nieces today, so we thought a game of Toss Across was in order. It's a vintage game, so it's missing some bean bags. We created some new split pea bags.

That's it for today. I'm now sipping a refreshing Main Street Pilsner. Yum. If you live in the Vancouver area, have you had one?

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Sunday Observations

I hope you've all had nice weekends, where ever you may be!  We had a lovely day, and I wish it was Sunday again tomorrow. Here are a few things I observed today...

This happy tin camper of happiness, happens to be sitting beside our house right now. I read about "Tin Can Studio" in issue 6 of Uppercase magazine (a fabulous Canadian publication). Recently Tin Can hosted a fantastic dinner, serving local organic foods harvested just hours before. Must check it out next time! Such a great idea. For more info click here

Pronto is a new restaurant located in my neighbourhood, near city hall. If you find yourself in the area, you should definitely check it out. One of those places that I could live in! Love the wood panelling, mosaic tile, and the soft green paint colours. Food is great, staff is lovely, and they're licensed too. ;) While you're on Cambie Street, be sure to check out Walrus, Shop Cocoon and Benton Brothers Fine Cheese as well!

I picked up a perfect prop from Land, here in Vancouver. Looking forward to using it, along with the tablecloth/blanket, from Birch and Bird, for a shoot with Gallant & Jones tomorrow!

That's what I got up to today. What did you do? I always love to know!

Sunday Observations

Another long weekend comes to a close. It's been so nice. Hope you've all had a nice weekend!

A few things I spotted today....

Museum of Anthropology is located at U.B.C. This beautiful building was designed by the late

Check out their shop online, where you can find this fabulous blanket and heaps more.

Well, that was my world today. What did you do? To those of you in the U.S. I hope you have a fantastic, firework filled, 4th of July!

Sunday Observations

Oh Sunday, you always seem to appear out of nowhere. We had a bit of summer today, so we took advantage of it. It was a great day! These are a few of my observations for today...

VanDusen Botanical Garden has been around since the 70's, but is now in the middle of a huge rejuvenation project. The image at bottom left, is a model of the new Visitor Centre. Apparently it will be
Canada's first certified "living building". It's quite an amazing project. Click here, for more info.

The Found and The Freed, is a fantastic "pop-up" shop here in Vancouver. It's in Gastown, and will be there until July 16th. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it! Lots of great stuff. I found a really well used, "hovis" bread tin so, naturally, I had to buy it. They've sold heaps, but will be adding more great "found and freed" stuff over the next week. See you there?

At the end of the day, we popped by our favourite neighbourhood shop, Walrus, to visit with our friends,
Caroline and Daniel. Couldn't go empty handed, so we shared a bottle of Prosecco with them. Nice way to wrap up the weekend! While there, I noticed they have a great selection of "plants in a bag, bottle or box". Love the hydroponic herbs (top right), in a recycled wine bottle, and would love the "gingko tree-to-be". Any of these would make a perfect hostess gift...or any kind of gift for that matter ;)

One last thing: I did a post for Poppytalk today. A little long weekend travel inspiration for this summer. Check it out, if you have a moment. Have you been to Tofino BC? Let me know!

It was so nice to just hang out this weekend and relax. What did you guys get up to? Fill me in!

Sunday Observations

It's been a pretty great weekend here, for Vancouverites, with the Canucks up 2-0 against the Bruins. Go Canucks! Bring it home!
We took advantage of the sunshine in Vancouver today, before jumping on the ferry to Victoria. I'm back in Victoria (on Vancouver Island) for another crack of dawn shoot. This time I brought my husband to assist me.

That's it for my Sunday. What did you do today?
If you missed Friday's post, click here to check out the give away! I'll be making the draw next Wednesday.

Back on Monday!

Sunday Observations

How are you all doing? Hope you're enjoying your weekend, where ever you are. I just watched the Canucks win game 4 in the Western Conference final. 5 more wins to go!

Besides watching hockey, I got up to a few other things today....

That was my Sunday. What did you do? Anyone out there watching hockey these days? ;)
