City Living

I hope you've all had a great week! Mine was filled with the flu, so I don't know what went on. On the mend, just almost no voice. It's probably for the best (I said that for my husband) ;)

Last summer, I had the pleasure of shooting this fantastic Vancouver condo for Style At Home. The homeowner, Jo-Ann, is possibly the sweetest woman I've ever met. Jo-Ann hired the design team of Riesco and Lapres to update her 80's condo. Job well done, it seems. Here's a peek...

The mix of styles and patterns, in the living room, work so well together. I really love the idea of hanging a traditional piece of art, mixed with modern furniture, at sitting level. Perfect.

A functional, and pretty, kitchen. Loved the vintage stool mixed with all the clean white.

Pretty green in the guest bedroom.

No plain hallway for Jo-Ann.

Non-matching bedside tables work well together in the master bedroom.

Deborah Bowness wallpaper covering the closet doors in the master bedroom.

I did want to pinch this Designer's Guild pillow, from the Cross. Looked perfect on the womb chair.

This rooms serves as office space for Jo-Ann. I would love to have an office space like this.

What do you like about Jo-Ann's condo? I know I could move right on in. There's so much more in the June issue of Style At Home on the news stands now.

Have a nice weekend!

T.G.I.F.

That week disappeared quickly. Not enough time to get it all done these days! I've been working on a few exciting projects and they're taking up most of my time...but I'm not complaining ;) One is for a beautiful new(ish) British magazine, preparing for the Etsy event at West Elm and a fun d.i.y. and food story with Poppytalk, to name a few. I plan to get back into full blog mode soon, with d.i.y.'s and baking tucked in there as well.

Looking forward to catching up with many of your blogs this weekend. Have a fun weekend all!

Spring Has Sprung

Happy Wednesday! Hope you're all having a good week.

I popped by The Cross the other day, to check out their upholstery sale (20% off!), and thought I'd share a little of what I saw. Spring has definitely sprung!

Pretty mix of Designers Guild fabrics.

Love Banquet's new heart print in neon pink.

Great selection of indoor/outdoor gardening supplies and inspiring new books.

The Cross is located in the Yaletown area of Vancouver. If you're in the area, pop by and say hello! You can also shop online ;)

Have a great day. Back soon.

Observations Through My SX-70

Hello Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I worked for much of mine, but fit in some time to play around with my SX-70 and Impossible Project film...

It's fun to experiment with light, exposure and temperature with this film. It's different in every situation, and with every camera.

I also loved these posts...

A little Flamingo action at Hege In France.
Cute paper garland backdrop at Poppytalk.
Modern home amazingness in Phoenix at Miss Design.
Will definitely add this shop to my Paris list. Spotted at Remodelista

Back soon!

Kitchen Love

Here I am thinking it's Wednesday, but it's actually Thursday. Wishful thinking, probably, as I have a couple of looming deadlines. Oh well!  Hope your week is going smoothly.

A few months ago, I shot a spring brunch story for BC Home and Garden, and it's on the cover of this month's issue. Thought I'd share some of the kitchen with you. I loved it. The shoot was styled by Maureen Willick and recipe by Susan Minton-Green, art director.

If I was super tidy (or even just tidy), I would have a lovely floating shelf too.

I would love to have a seating nook like this one, with all the extra hidden storage.

For the whole story, and recipe, click here

Have a good day! Back soon.

Weekend Observations & Links

How was your weekend? Hope it was a fun one!

Mine made me feel very ladylike which, generally, I'm not ;) Here's a bit of my weekend...

Had pretty much the best high tea ever at the new Butter Tearoom, here in Vancouver. Rosie, you've done it again. The mini buns with tuna and a layer of potato chips, were my favourite.

I always love shooting "before and after" stories, of all kinds. Gotta love a good transformation. This one was shot for Canadian Living magazine, and designed by Colleen of Vintage Home. She took a run down old shed, some beaten up furniture and accessories, above, and transformed them for a tiny guest cottage. The whole story, with all the little details, is in the new issue of Canadian Living.

A little link love too:

•Loved this d.i.y. round up at Poppytalk
•I know it's uber trendy, but I do love a little modern cross-stitch. Spotted this at Hege in France
•I've mentioned my Zaishu before, and now I feel it's time for a new one! Take a look at the new designs at Zaishu
•Hanging houseplants can be great...in moderation of course. Loved some of these at Decouvrir Design

That's it for today! Back soon.

TGIF

This image is from another lovely shoot this week with Gallant & Jones. Wait until you see their new products. Let's just say, I can't wait for picnic and camping season.

What are you up to this weekend? Hope it's a fun one.
