Marrakech and Essaouira


Happy hump day! Hope your week is going well so far. Thought I'd share some more of my recent trip. I have to say, it was all pretty fantastic but, to be honest, a little harrowing at times too. More on that soon ;)

While in Marrakech we checked out the souks and had a road trip to Essaouira, as part of our  Instant Love polaroid workshop. I have to admit, I'm not one for "bartering" or "haggling" when it comes to shopping, so I only dabbled in the shopping experience. Here are some of the colourful sights I saw and shot....



Shopping around the souks.



Cafe des Epices was a calm place to hang out after all the chaos in the souk. 

This place was so beautiful, and much calmer than Marrakech. A perfect break.


Oranges were definitely in season. Loved the orange peel "garlands" at every fruit stand. 








Whew...that was a lot, but there was just so much to shoot!  Again, I do plan to post more on Flickr as soon as I get a chance.

    your pics are beautiful! I'm not one for haggling much either so I haven't done it at the souks here in Dubai either. I wish there were more "authentic" places around here to experience instead of all the flash and bling.

    it's come to this. I have to read about your adventures through your blog. sigh. How did we ever manage to get so busy.
    I'm in love with that Peacock Pavilion. Looks absolutely lovely.
    The cat is my favorite shot. I'd drink out of that water too! but is that rose water...it must be!

    Beautiful images!
    I remember feeling that way about Morocco when we backpacked through it... incredibly beautiful but daunting and overwhelming at the same time. Truly an incredible experience.

    One question, how did you take pictures with people in them and not get yelled at? When I asked, the answer was almost always no. WHen I didn't and they just happened to be in the picture I would get yells or glares. No fun
