Modern Warmth

Hello! How's your week going so far?

I wanted to share a home with you that I shot for Denise Ashmore,  a very talented interior designer. The home itself was designed by architect, Paul Phillips. It's also in the current issue of Western Living magazine.

Denise has created a beautiful mix of warm walnut, throughout the home, with mid-century furniture and pops of blues and greens.

Here's a peek...

Are you a warm wood person, or do you prefer it a bit lighter? Would love to hear from you.

Have a great day!

what a beautiful home! I love mixing wood with lots of white - it gives it such a comfy feel. The only wood I'm not a fan of is that orangey knotty pine which you often see in many older cottages in Muskoka - but that can easily be fixed with a bit of whitewashing to tone it down. Hope you're having a great weekend :)

Beautiful images. Looks like a stylish yet comfy place!

I don't prefer either, 'cause I like the cleanliness of white AND like the coziness wood exudes... though it shouldn't be too dark.

This took me straight back to my gran's apartment. Lovely pictures! I live in warm wood and I love it, although I must say that white-washed wood is on my wish list.

Of the three homes I got to see, this one was my fave! Love the pics, now I don't have to rely solely on my memory! ;)
