Getting Organized with HomeSense

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.

I've spent the weekend tidying up, after the holidays, and getting a little more organized with help from HomeSense.  Thought I'd start the week off by giving away a gift card for $150 to one lucky person, courtesy of HomeSense!  Here's a look at some of the baskets and boxes I chose....

This burlap and canvas basket now houses the blankets that seem to kick around our living room during the winter. Mixes well with our mid-century furniture.

Playing cards and small games are now stored in this simple leatherette box.

Instead of just tossing scarves, gloves and toques anywhere there's space, they're now easy to find in this vintage inspired green metal basket.

Ah, my office/studio. I spend a lot of time up here, editing images, packaging up prints, and working on sewing projects. It's now officially organized. Love these canvas baskets alongside the metal mesh
baskets.

Because I don't totally trust storing all my digital images on external hard drives only, I like tossing them onto dvd's as well. I know, it's kind of silly, but at least it gave me an excuse to get these perfect dvd storage boxes ;)

If you'd like a chance to win the HomeSense gift card, just leave a comment for me and I'll make the draw on Friday January 10th. Contest is open to Canadians only this time around. For another chance to win, enter the HomeSense Neat Storage Solutions contest for a $100 gift card!

Love these choices, Janis...somehow vintage-y sweet & also modern looking, orderly. My studio needs some fresh storage ideas(& some fabric purging), so these options are inspiring. I especially like the canvas boxes with the floral print & that gorgeous final shot of the pretty yarn in the white wire basket. Thanx for the tips & Happy 2014.

Perfect timing! I'm in the midst of doing a full reorganization of my new-ish house, most of which has already been purchased from Homesense!

January always feels like the calm after the storm where re-organizing closets etc seems to bring back the natural order of things. I already have a bag full of things to donate to the local thrift store.
Can't wait to buy some containers to
make better use of my space next time I drive down to Nanaimo.

Cheers

lovely!
With the new year comes a new job and a new home! We have been searching for home storage solutions - our new apartment is smaller (and more expensive) Tha the last. We could sure use this little treat! <3

You've made beautiful choices in the baskets, they're all lovely. The organizing and reorganizing never seems to end, everything time we get close, we find a few more thing lurking in/under/on/between/underneath/on top...we will get there someday :)
Happy 2014!

Me please.
I'm with you on the not trusting EHDs (of which I have 3). I also have Time Capsule backing up my computer and EHDs...can you tell I've had a hard drive fail (nothing worse than seeing the white screen of death) and despite sending it to a "recovery" company, nothing was saved. Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe it!
Well done on your organizing!

This is the perfect time of year to get organized - it's too chilly to do much else.

Ah, so I am not the only person out there determined to re-organize my house in January? :) Seems like everyone is on the bandwagon, and I love it. I better get to Homesense soon, though, before all the good baskets are scooped!

I love³ the burlap/canvas basket.
It would look awesome in my crafting corner.

And it's not silly, better safe than sorry... when my notebook crashed last October, I was so glad about having made back up DVD's from my 2D & 3D works. ;) Besides, the DVD storage boxes look great!
