City Living in NYC

This past April, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Jen Ramos of Made By Girl, her husband Matt and Darla the boxer, at their NYC apartment. A small space and, wow, was it ever organized! Their home is in a special issue of Style At Home that's all about organizing. Here's some more of our shoot....

Jen's perfectly tidy office and paint studio. Turquoise candle holders from The Cross

Some of Jen's paintings and prints. You can check out more of her work here

Matt whipped up a small smorgasbord for us. He's not a chef, but he could be. So delicious.

Hard to keep my eyes off this box of Sprinkles cupcakes during the shoot.

Do you live in a small space?  We do, but I can't call it organized. Any special tricks for de-cluttering? Feel free to share your ideas!

Have a lovely day!

City Living

Have you had a good week so far? Hope so!

I shot a another city condo today, this time for Mark Pritchard - a very talented interior designer. I always marvel at the clever ways he works in storage space into condos. He's a magic man. Here are a few pics from the shoot. Wish I could show them all, but I can't...just yet. ;) Love the black side table, above. You can find it at Provide.

Loved the cushions, from Provide. A fantastic shop here in Vancouver.

My dream dining table. Love the pops of colour in the trio of paintings.

Perfectly organized kitchen, with pull out "counters" hidden amongst the cupboards.

The bedroom was so calming. Loved the dark wood panelled "wall" with the glow of light framing it.

I actually shot Mark's home, that he shares with his husband Daryl, a few years ago for Style At Home. You can check it out here

Have a good day! Back soon.

City Living

I'm so happy it's a long weekend here. I don't even care if the weather continues to bite!

I thought I'd share another small space with you. I shot it for the lovely people at the Cross.  Have you been to the Cross? If you live in the Vancouver area, I have no doubt you have. ;)

This space is pretty tiny, but it manages to feel roomy. I quite liked the red chair (very comfy) and the bed side sconces. What do you think about this space? Could you live in it? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I'll be back tomorrow for a little Canada Day post. Have a great day!

City Living in Small Spaces

How's your week going so far? Hope all is well!

I'm not sure how it is where you live, but Vancouver is a city of condos so I end up shooting a lot of "small space" stories. Thought I'd share one with you.

Last summer I had the pleasure of working with Christine Hanlon, from Style At Home, on a week of shoots. This condo was one of the shoots, and it's featured in the new issue. This compact one bedroom condo is owned by a young woman and was designed with the help of Karla Amadatsu of Kerrisdale Design. This space is very paired down, and very orderly, which is the trick with tiny spaces where everything is on view. I can't seem to do that myself...too much stuff!

I love seeing how people live with their "stuff" - paired down, hidden, or on display. How do you live with your "stuff"?

Back on Friday with mapley good treat. Have a lovely day!
