Purple Haze



I've been loving purple lately. Be it flowers, throws, or Japanese paper tape.  A bit of a purple haze.
Is there a certain colour that you're drawn too? Does it change daily, or weekly?

Linen ribbon, Japanese paper tape, pantone mug, and a Designer's Guild throw.

Calla lilies, fading hydrangeas against concrete blocks (love those), and dahlias.

    hi janis...all lovely...well, if this HEAT would break in california i would love to set out my red and green plaid flannel blankets

    in my living room. i have these old camp blankets from Maine...but at 120 degrees today..maybe not yet :-{

    can't wait for monday baking..i have been wanting to make some apple walnut muffins..but, again...too hot.

    I weird I've never been a purple girl but as I get older I fancy it. I painted my daughter's bedroom wall a deep dark aubergine from Ralph Lauren paint that was moody & beautiful. Since then I've been hooked. Before you know it I'll be one of those crazy old ladies wearing one of those purple hats with purple hair..eek!
    I'm drawn consistently to greens & any shade; acids to earthy. Such a great post. Hoping you have a good Sunday & a great new week. x Deb

    Gorgeous images. I'm a red girl myself - although I rarely decorate with it, and only sometimes wear it. Oh, and grey and yellow - that's a beautiful combo!

    Purple is one of those colours I've never really been drawn to but lately I've really been liking those pinky purples and I love how they look with grey. pretty pics! :)

    Yes, I go through periods of intense colour preference. I've recently finished my turquoise phase and am now in love with orange.

    I've always loved purple so this post is right up my alley. Now I love it even more because my baby girl looks great in purple and I find myself dressing her in it alot. Hope she doesn't mind, lol. Luckily, I've got a few years more before she can voice her opinions so I can indulge my love of purple until then ;)

    I do like purple - i go through waves of loving it and then get sick of it, then i love it again. When I was in India, there was a ton of purple in saris, turbans, papers and at temples. Just gorgeous. Women would hand-dye it with eggplant and other natural sources still. I found out it is stands for creativity and vitality, something else, can't recall.
    A friend of mine just gave me a purple shirt she doesn't like on her - think I will wear it tomorrow! xo

    Those purple colours are gorgeous. My favourite colour has always been red but I'm finding the older I get the more feminine my tastes are becoming...colours like light pink, lilac, voilet are becoming more appealing, definitely xx

    Well I like purple more and more these days.. but my latest fixation is pink... I don't know whether it is just spring influencing me.. but I've got a little addiction now...

    Hi Janis. How did the Aussie 'St Kilda fan' hubby handle the big game on the weekend? Does he feel cheated that they didn't win after a great comeback .. or perhaps he is excited that he gets 2 games to cheer for instead of 1?

    purple has always been a favourite of mine. my closet consists of the usual boring earth tones, with a splash of purple. my other faves would have to be yellow, green and red.
    and by the way - all my favourite flowers too, the only other one i'd add are peonies!

    for me, purple is the colour of ballet. All dancers look heavenly in it -whatever shade - and they all seem to love it too. So do I.... though it does compete with pink !!

    shannon, the linen ribbon is from Paper Ya, here in Vancouver. A great shop!
    So purple is the colour of ballet, Ms. Ballet News? I'm going to have to pay more attention!
    Linda, I'm sure you can understand the pain of the "grand final"....and it wasn't even the "grand final" as it turned out! Ugh.

    Every fall - i fall in love with purple - they just sort of go together it seems. And that pantone mug is calling my name.
