City Living in a Duplex

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going well.

I had the pleasure of shooting, jewelry designer, Leah Alexandra's, and music producer, Kris Dirksen's home for Style At Home, and wanted to share a few extra pics with you. It was styled by Joanna at The Cross Design. The entire story is in the March issue of Style At Home and you can also see it here.

Their home is small and perfectly organized, with a place for everything. Have to love that. Again, to see the whole story, and a lot more pics, check out the new issue of Style At Home. By the way, you can also subscribe to a digital version of Style At Home now (I've been waiting for this!).

Have a good day!

Bathroom Prettiness

Happy Friday! Hope you've all had a good week.

I just returned from a camping trip and, on the last day, I have to admit, I was longing for a good soak in a pretty bathroom....this one would have worked well.

I shot this bathroom, designed by homeowner Shereen de Rousseau, with the help of her friend, designer Nancy Riesco, for Style At Home. You can read the entire story with all the little details, and how to get the look her look, here

Have a lovely weekend!

Elvis, Marilyn and Concrete

Well hello! How is it already Thursday? I thought I posted just the other day ;) Hope you're having a good week.

I shot this ultra modern home with Tanya Schoenroth, who was the interior designer on this project. Here's a sneak peek....

I love these prints of Marilyn and Elvis, in neon pink no less. I wouldn't mind a few of the Bocci lights either.

I'm a concrete lover, especially when it comes to floors, and I know some of you have definite thoughts on this material, so I'd love to hear from you. My favourite part of this home was the kitchen....and neon Elvis and Marilyn. Looking forward to going back to this home and shooting the back yard and more views.

I'm going back to Palm Springs this weekend to shoot a fun entertaining, shopping and interior story. Looking forward to a dose of serious mid-century design and some much needed warmth.

Have a fun weekend everyone!

All Shades of Style

I hope you had a great weekend! I was a bit under the weather, so I'm not going to share my "weekend observations" with you, which consisted of laying on the couch, eating soup and watching movies. ;) Thought, instead, I'd share a variety of lovely spaces with you, all designed by the talented women of Riesco & Lapres. I love that every time I shoot one of their projects, it's a completely different look.

 Shot for Chatelaine magazine.

Shot for Style At Home magazine.

Shot for Canadian Home and Country

Shot for House and Home magazine.

Which one do you lean towards? I'd love to know.

Back soon,
Janis

Deck the Halls

I can't believe how fast this past week has gone. Where did it go? Since my last post, I've worked with my friend Heather on web images for Missing Goat, shot a bathroom with Nancy Riesco for House and Home. (yes, I have a glamorous life), and finally wrapped up my new promo piece (merci, Rob).

As we head into the weekend, I thought I'd get you all into the "deck the halls" spirit. This lovely home is featured in the current Canadian House and Home magazine. I shot this story last Christmas.  How time flies. Homeowner, Darci, is co-owner of the Cross , a beautiful home store here in Vancouver. They have recently launched their new website and online shop.

By the way, thanks so much to all of you lovely bloggers for your helpful hints regarding my "upholstery fairy" post. It's all underway, so I'll be posting the makeovers soon.  Looking forward to catching up with all of your blogs, over the weekend!
