Island Living

Hello everyone! I seemed to have lost March somewhere. If anyone finds it, could you let me know? Seriously, how are we already well into April? Anyone else lose March?

I shot this incredible home, on Pender Island, near Vancouver, with interior designers McCarthy Hinder. It's in the May issue of House and Home magazine. I had serious home envy with this one. The location is breathtaking. Here is just a little taste of it...

Carrie and Tanja setting up for the shoot.

The living area completely opens up to the front of house and the back deck with a stunning view.

Many of the rooms feel like you're in a treehouse. I would love to wake up surrounded by those trees.

What do you think? Could you live here? Would love to know your thoughts. There's so much more in the May issue of House and Home. The kid's rooms are fantastic too.

Have a great day!

A Perfect Mix

Happy Wednesday!

I wanted to share a few vignettes from a story I shot with Suzanne Dimma, editor-in-chief, for House and Home magazine - it's in the April issue, out now.  This is the home of actress Kristin Lehman, star of the series Motive on CTV, her husband, filmmaker,  Adam Reid and son Sammy. It's such a pretty blend of new, vintage, and personal treasures. Designer, Nancy Riesco, helped Kristin pull it all together to create a warm and inviting space, with lots of personal touches. I could live here.

Kristin, Adam and Sammy were so lovely to work with.

There's so much more to see so, to get the entire story, check out the digital or print April issue of House and Home magazine.

Have a great day!

A Sunshiny Kitchen for Friday

Hello weekend! It's been a very golden day for Canada at the Olympics, and our hockey team is heading to the gold medal game on Sunday. Can't wait. Will you be watching?

To end off the week, I thought I'd share a few pics of Lisa Moody's, of Grapevine Designs, kitchen. I shot it for House and Home magazine, and it's on the stands now.

What do you think of Lisa's kitchen? I loved her counter top with a built-in cutting board at one end of it. The table, with a window bench seating, was pretty great too.  I also can't believe how incredibly organized this busy mom of 3 is. Wow.

Have a great weekend!

Home in the Mountains

I had the pleasure of shooting Trevor Linden's Whistler home for House and Home. For Canuck hockey fans, you'll know Trevor ;)  The interior was designed by Evoke International Design, and prop styling for this shoot was done by Maureen Willick.

Staircase envy.

Love the mix of materials in this space. It's a modern spin on the mountain cabin.

Have a great weekend!

Fresh and Modern for Monday

How was your weekend? I carried on my "technology" break throughout last week. Sometimes I find it absolutely necessary! I feel better now ;)

I shot a very lovely home, as a Christmas story, for House and Home (November issue) and wanted to share some of my favourite bits. Sophie Burke designed the interior for her sister Lucy and her family. The house itself is almost 100 years old, but has a fresh and modern feel going on inside. I'm not focusing on the festive decor, though it's beautiful, as you can see that in the current issue of House and Home!

A calm and pretty ensuite.

Grey and white for the baby's room. Love the little nook.

Clean, simple and grey. Perfect spot to bake in.

I wanted to pinch the wall mounted bedside lamps, linens and that "Granny" pendant, by Pudelskern, as well.

Do you think you could live in this house? I definitely could. Let me know what you think!

FYI, I shot a "Girl Friday" story for Move Lifestyle, along with The Jealous Curator, featuring actress Brittany Ishibashi. We started out at her trailer, on the set of new show "Emily Owens M.D.", and ended up at English Bay. A perfect Vancouver day. Click here for the story.

That's it for today! Have a nice Monday. Back soon.

Loft Loveliness

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you had a great week.

To wrap up the week, I thought I'd share a pretty loft that I shot for House and Home (Sept. 2012). This beautiful space belongs to Katharine Horsman, a fashion stylist. I met Katharine via the Cross and have since worked with her on this shoot as well.

I quite loved this bit of neon. Love how this looks.

I really loved how Katharine mixed girly elements with things like a beautiful native head dress perched atop a piece of driftwood.

Mini Mick Jagger, anyone?

What do you think? You can also see more over at House and Home, just click here for a video tour of Katharine's home.

Have a great weekend!

The (Good) Blues

Hope you had a nice weekend! Did you have a nice Easter (if that's your thing)?

I shot this home for Canadian House and Home and it's in the current special "Best Decorating" issue. This home looked so different the first time I shot it, several years ago. The owner, Karin Smith, wanted it freshened up so she hired Riesco and Lapres to do the job. Lots of happy hits of blue throughout the house.

What do you think? Do you like the blues?

I'm in Las Vegas for a few days, so I'll be back on Thursday. Until then, have a great week!

Happy Friday!

I hope you've all had a great week! Any big plans for the weekend? I'll be shooting Grace Bonney's, queen of Design Sponge, book signing, at Anthropologie in Vancouver tomorrow night. If you're attending, please say hi. I'll be hanging out with Jan, of Poppytalk, as well!

I leave you with a couple of images from a shoot for House and Home, the other day. Can't wait to show you the entire, amazing, home!

Have a lovely weekend!

Back on Sunday!

Pit-stop at the Cross

How's your week so far? Mine's been pretty busy with a couple of fun shoots. Shot a beautiful condo with a fabulous deck for House and Home yesterday, and a garden today. The condo had an incredible view of Vancouver and the mountains. Can't show you until August, when the issue is on the stands. Nuts.

Today was my day of post production but I had to take a break at hour 5, so I headed down to the Cross. Always good to catch up with them. Have to say, I did spy a few things that I wouldn't mind picking up.

I think this chair is even better with this cushion. Love it.

Have you been to the Cross? It's located in the Yaletown area of Vancouver. You can also shop on line, which makes it all too easy. ;)
Now to get back to work. Back on Friday!
