Driftwood Crafts

Hi Everyone!
Jan, of Poppytalk, and I collected some pretty driftwood, on a sunny autumn day, then made a few festive decorations with it. Nothing quite like driftwood, yarn, pine cones and glitter! Check it out at Poppytalk.

Have any of you been getting festive yet? Would love to hear (and see!) what you've been creating.

Have a great day!
Janis

I'm obsessed with driftwood! Just adore! Nothing like working with natures own art huh?

Our local radio station played it's first Christmas song on Monday evening when we were driving home from the airport - I was too excited driving and singing along :-) No decorating or shopping as yet though ...

I will definitely check out. Our house is for sale so not sure yet how festive to get? Must do something or I won't be able to stand it!!

Great inspiration, thank you!

You forgot to mention that you made such delicious coffee and olive/rosemary bread!

Thanks for hosting me Janis, it was a nice outing to the beach and to your house!

I love this post! I painted branches and wrapped them with a wee bit of yarn a few weeks ago and I am going to try to find matching vintage Christmas balls to hang from them. If that doesn't work we may make some snowballs by dipping Styrofoam balls in plaster and then sprinkle them with glue and clear glitter. I have been thinking about Christmas all week and I can't stop.

love these projects! the pink yarn is such a great color...

we have a ton of driftwood around here from little beach outings. the kids recently drew little faces and drawings on them with skinny sharpie markers. i was thinking about drilling holes in the top and hanging them as ornaments or on a twine as a banner of sorts. we'll see if i ever get around to it...

I love you blog! Found you through Kalani Cut, as well as the photography blogroll in BYW class :) I really really love the photos you take, and wish I could create the same sort of look and feel. Hope you don't mind if I feature your blog on mine? I really think it's amazing what you've done!

Am feeling very under the weather, so it's nice to read everyone's comments. Merci! sounds like many of you are going to get a little crafty. I find it relaxing to play with glue, sticks, paper, whatever!

I've always loved the soft, bleached look of driftwood - LOVE your square wreath idea with the pinecone! :) Hope you're feeling better xo

How funny that I'm watching the Cooking Channel and I landed on your blog from Razmataz. So glad I'm here since winter always seems to inspire me to cook and bake more.

This summer, my family and I did a fair amount of hiking and I was fascinated by all the driftwood we saw. I took a few pieces home and put them in a vase. Another, larger piece will be used as a hanging rod. Off to check out the piece in Poppytalk for more ideas ...

Hey Janis!
This might give away too much of my ocd germ issues ;) but do you do anything with the driftwood before you bring it inside?
Hope you're feeling better!
