I wanted to share one of my favourite spots in the Melbourne area; the Brighton Bathing Boxes. We made a quick pit-stop on our way to Phillip Island.
There are about 80 of these happy little boxes dotted along Dendy Street Beach. It would be fantastic to hang out on the front stoop of your bathing box, sipping a cold beer. Sigh. Apparently, if you would like to own one be prepared to dole out around $200,000. I'm out.
That's it for today. Looking forward to really catching up with you all when we get back to Vancouver!
Have a lovely day!

i LOVE these!! so cute but that's a lot of dough though! safe trip back! :)
These are beyond adorable! Too bad they're so pricey.
They are beautiful, but yes, that sure is a high price to express one's individuality in paint.
Wow. They're great. So cheery!
Aren't they fantastic!
Janis, Aren't they just the most colorful, fun pieces of real estate you have ever seen!
So fun to stop by!
Yvonne
These are absolutely adorable!
How cool! ( and YIKES! really?! ) They reminded me of the little shanti's from Grumpy Old Men, for ice fishing, only way cuter :)x
Wow, 200K?? And I thought Vancouver real estate was highway robbery! haha - adorable though, I hope I can see those one day. And own one!
I can't wait to see more of your photos, chronicling your fabulous trip. All of you were missed this holiday season but so happy Rob was with family and in his element.
xo see you soon
Hey everyone, why don't we all pitch in for one? Hee-hee.
Ok, I have about $179.29 to give - I am IN!!
Hey you are up!
xo
I'm game but I'm too far from Vancouver. They are much cheaper on my beach in Oostkapelle, NDL. The coast of Belgium is line with them but they are mostly white. I like yours, so adorable and colorful. xo Jenny
Jenny, I like the sounds of these beach huts in the Netherlands. I have only visited Amsterdam but I am sure I missed the best of your country.
I am Janis' sister and I love reading her blog and 'meeting' people on her blog.
All the best in 2011 to you and yours

something seriously cute about a cheery beach hut. these are great. in the UK there is a small, sleepy seaside resort called Whitstable that has cool fisherman huts also deadly expensive, darn! one can dream though...
I love the colours - just like a striped beach towel!
those are sooooo cute. i want one too!

Hi Janis, with all the horrific news about the flooding in Australia, I just wanted to pop over and say that I hope you and your family and friends are safe.
Marisa, thanks for you thoughts. We're back and all is ok. I feel for all those affected by the horrific flooding that has now hit the state of Victoria where my in-laws live.
I absolutely love these beach shacks! Would love to go and see them one day.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment on my blog today! Love your blog= new follower!
