Weekend Observations

Hello All! How was your weekend? I just got back from 5 days in Palm Springs, and despite the massive wind storm it was great. Here's some of the weekend...

After the chaos of the Saturday wind storm (to my knowledge, there were no injuries), Sunday was a lovely day of calm...

Links:
•The Backyard Oasis exhibit, at the Palm Springs Art Museum, was fantastic. Click here for more info.
•Salton Sea is a pretty crazy place to visit. Loved it. Click here for info.
•The Hideaway is mid-century hotel, with large rooms and a lovely pool. So quiet and peaceful! Check it out here.
•Would loved to have used the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, but that wind. Click here for more info.

That kind of wraps up the weekend anyway. What did you get up to? Let me know!

Much more Palm Springs fun to share with you - will be posting on Poppytalk soon!

Back soon,
Janis

Oh, these make me long for the cool mid-century haven that is Palm Springs! I've never been to the Salton Sea - do you think it would be fun to camp there?

Wow, it's amazing how mother nature can change her mood in an instant. I've never been to California, but the Hideaway looks like a place I could hang for a long relaxing while.

The place with its semi-dry vegetation & palms reminds me of an old school computer game... love the images & great to have you back, too.
Also, thnx for the links, hope to check them out later.
Though I wonder what that image with the bear & its hat was... so cute!

I made some Seitan & out of it fake minced meat... but it tasted more like minced chicken... *tehee*
Oh, and lots of cleaning the place.

I just got back from there a week ago! Wasn't the Salton Sea strange? A great place to take photos. I heard about the storm. Glad you made it back in one piece. I can't wait to go back again. I miss you sun.

I'm planning a 3-4 day long weekend later in the year and my final choices are Palm Springs and LA. Having been to both, which would you choose? Boyfriend will be in tow, if that makes a difference.

Beautiful photos, even those of downed trees! My brother wants to go to the Salton Sea. He's been talking a lot about it lately; it fascinates him!

I've lived in OC all my life and only make it out to Palm Springs for the outlet shopping...shameful, I know! Definitely a weekend excursion I'm prioritizing this year! Thanks for the jolt of inspiration...these images are pure magic!

Thanks everyone for your comments!
Anonymous, I think PS is absolutely lovely and quiet. If you're looking for a quiet few days go for PS, if not L.A. I love L.A. too - so much fun.
Julie, I was told about the outlet shopping, but I'm missing the shopping gene! Ha, ha.
La la, I really loved Salton Sea. It is a very strange place, but the colours are just beautiful.
