Conquer Clutter

I was asked to answer a few questions, for a contributers page, about small spaces and "conquering clutter". As I plunked down my thoughts, I scanned my office. Ugh. I have definitely not conquered clutter. After answering the questions, I started to go through the cupboards and shelves in my work space. Let's just say, a garage sale will be happening in the next month, and my office will go through a few changes. I will share the results of my purging and mini reno. If any of you lovely bloggers have some decluttering advice, please fill me in!

To celebrate Canada Day (we're 143 years old!), I thought I'd leave you with this image. I do not know why I have this (probably scanning ebay whilst drinking wine, and thought "oh, a mountie"), but I can promise you, it will be part of the garage sale. You may have to get here early if you want this little guy ;)

Happy Canada Day! Hope the sun is shining where you are!

Just conquered some serious clutter at the studio today. I recently did this at home too and started putting all the 'garage sale' items on the porch with best intentions, but found that a few things were making their way back into the house. Finally I decided the whole lot had to go to the Sally Ann so none of us would be tempted to raid stuff that we had already decided to let go of.
That Mountie would probably have come back inside at my house- too cute. Happy Canada Day to you!

Perhaps you need to be drinking wine to gaze upon it as well! But you know, it's kind of cute...isn't it?!

Happy Canada Day to you too Janis. That Mountie is very cute. I think I might be able to find him a Kangaroo cousin somewhere in my mum's cupboards.

i totally relate! i've prided myself on being a minimalist, but when i look around my house i realize that i'm fooling myself! the clutter is there, like it or not. good luck with your garage sale. i'm sure you are going to make a lot of people very happy with your cast offs...

I need to do another declutter, I swear clutter has a way of breeding when you're not looking.

Ouch, on the clutter subject.

I keep talking yard sale, yard sale, then I check out the weekend weather and sigh.

Nobody's selling or coming when it's almost a 100 degrees.

Maybe in the fall. Meanwhile I'll live vicariously through yours.

Happy Canada Day! That little guy is awfully cute - is it a planter? I find that I'm always filling them up with things other than plants, but it makes for an illusion of organization.

dalhous, that's usually what I end up doing too! Garage sales are kind of fun, so I'm going to aim for that.
Koralee, I'm happy you have clutter too! I didn't think you would ;)
FLWJane...it's really that hot? Consider yourself lucky. It's only about 15c/60f here. Boo.
