How's your week going so far? Hope all is well!
I'm not sure how it is where you live, but Vancouver is a city of condos so I end up shooting a lot of "small space" stories. Thought I'd share one with you.
Last summer I had the pleasure of working with Christine Hanlon, from Style At Home, on a week of shoots. This condo was one of the shoots, and it's featured in the new issue. This compact one bedroom condo is owned by a young woman and was designed with the help of Karla Amadatsu of Kerrisdale Design. This space is very paired down, and very orderly, which is the trick with tiny spaces where everything is on view. I can't seem to do that myself...too much stuff!
Back on Friday with mapley good treat. Have a lovely day!

Beautiful photos! I am curious about how you got to be where you are as a photographer. Did you study somewhere? Do you work freelance? How do you like it?
I just moved to Toronto and am looking to pursue my love of photography as a career. Any and all advice from you would be great :)
(Currently taking classes at Ryerson for it)
Oh very impressive - it's like a Porsche interior in plush apartment form, and beautifully coordinated - a perfect balance of sparseness and luxury. Look at that pink pompom!
Such a beautiful home and beautiful photos!
2yrs ago my little family (husband, 2 babies, dog & i) lived in a 100sqm loft apartment...life was simple - immaculate & there was a lot of free time because everything was so compact....today i need to trim hedges...clean glass doors....umm the list goes on....i miss compact living sometimes x
so bright and pretty and, yes... clean and tidy!! i'm constantly trying to pare down my belongings... or think of more storage solutions! ^__^
This space is gorgeous. I really love the pink/black/grey palette. So clean and cheery!
Wow how fab, your photos are superb Janis! However, add 5 sons & all their mates coming & going, a less-than-tidy husband & working at home remotely from Head Office & you have instant disorder. I would have this gorgeous space as my go-to-alone space. And my family would NEVER know about it!

Wow! This is a beautiful space - those dark floors look great and your photographs are just lovely. xx
What a gorgeous home! I really love that giant piece of artwork over the main sofa.

wow. It looks stunning. your work always blows me a way.
Your photography is stunning Janis! I don't have a lot of stuff, I think of myself as a minimalist but it never looks as good as this home.
Looking forward to your mapley treat :)

What a beautiful space!
I live with things constantly moving, shifting from one room to the next. The draw backs of being a designer is that I love to change things up!

Amazing! Such amazing talent you have to capture spaces as you do. I can pull a space together but my photos are always terrible. Again, truly amazing Janis!! xo Erica

the photos look very nice, i am in the process of getting rid of clutter
thank you for the inspiration . lorraine
beautiful images..great perspectives!..Love the legs!..and well you know how I roll!.......wish I had more self discipline!
Great shoot! Those reds/pinks really make the space pop! I know what you mean about having to be tidy - our furnished apartment in Ireland has very little built in/hidden storage so everything seems to clutter up so quickly! Or at least when my guy is around! ; )
btw: yup, that shake was heavenly!
What a gorgeous space! The photos look very lovely.
You take the most wonderful shots, and I love that pink juju :)
You and Karla make a great team, she is lucky to have you! As usual Karla is so modest about herself, she is so talented! We had lunch and she never mentioned a thing!!!
You are truly talented!
i love the punchy/citrusy accent colours in this space.
in our small space, i try desperately to 'hide' my stuff and have things where they should be. that of course mostly isn't the reality. in our confines i just certainly feel better when i have more 'breathing' space. ..
i think you mean "pared down", not "paired down"
hmm, right now i live with my stuff flung all around me. but tomorrow it will be streamlined and minimal as possible - yet another home open weekend!
love this place and your images are stunning janis!

Beautiful house! You take the most gorgeous shots!
Thanks Anonymous! You're correct.
so awesome janis! i love your photos and always am stoked to see how other locals are living, especially when small space masterpieces like this pull it off so well.
her condo is so serene and okay those bedsheets!!!! wow, i'm all about great bedding and patterns, do you happen to know where those are from? please say local and please say high thread count but surprisingly cheap!!! ♥
great spaces - love the dec over the bed - great colour and texture :) best le
I just saw this in my Style at Home yesterday! Beautiful home and beautiful photos.
Very impressive! The clean, warm, uncluttered designs makes the place look so welcoming!
