I just checked out Marche St. George, a little neighbourhood grocery near my home, with my friend Caroline. She said I'd love it and she was right. Holy cute and cozy. The decor and all the little details are perfect. They just opened 2 months ago, and have since become hugely popular in the 'hood and one of Vancouver's best kept secrets.
The coffee and croissants were so delicious. They also carry a fantastic array of deli meats, cheeses, and assorted gourmet products. You'll find non-edible treats here too: ceramics, scarves from Mexico, soaps and linen towels.
I had to pick up a jar of Mission Hill Oculus Cherries, a combination of organic cherries, Oculus wine, and balsamic vinegar. Klee, one of the owners of the shop, suggested I pour them over chocolate ice cream. I didn't have ice cream at home, so I ate them right out of the jar. Oh God, they are incredible.
These really did bring tears to my eyes.
Have a great day! Back soon.

What an adorable little shop! I love the decor and her mix of vintage chairs. The cherries look delicious - I really NEED to visit Vancouver soon! :)
Now I want to come to Vancouver just to hit that store! How adorable ... and with such an unassuming storefront. Love it! :)
What a beautiful shop. Ambience like that makes me willing to not look at price tags.
Where the heck is St George? I'm loving those crates all stacked up...
these pictures are stunning...
yesterday was one of my favourite winter afternoons - thanks you.
Looks amazing. And beautiful pictures too. xx
What a gorgeous little place! I'll have to remember this one next time I'm in Vancouver!
Next time I am in the "hood" I will drop by...lucky them to have YOU on their side!...the east!
You take the best pictures.......
that place looks sensational, wish it was just down the road from me! xxx
I can't wait to check it out. I'll put it on my list of places to visit when I come to Vancouver again.
This looks like an incredible place. I like the mix of handmade foodie items and other knick-knacks. And considering there are so many chain retail stores out there at the moment, places like these really are becoming unique!
that wee shop just looks fab - how lucky you are :) le xox
I still need to go there! Those cherries sound right up my alley (balsamic vinegar!)
I've been meaning to check this place out. I had only ever heard descriptions, so it's nice to see your photos -- it looks amazing. I'll make a special trip!
I will definitely be stopping by there next time we go visit my cousins! Thanks for sharing!

OH love your photography! Makes me wish I lived in Vancouver so I could check out the store myself but unfortunately am in Ireland - a little too far for a quick visit.
Cheers,
