How's your week so far? Hope it's moving along smoothly!
I know so many people that just find stuff on the side of the road, or in an alley. I can tell you that has never happened to me, until just the other day. I came across this rusty, and slightly bent, vintage plant stand that had been kicked to the curb. I've always had a soft spot for these, so I brought it home. A little sanding, some gentle persuading it back to more of a circle shape, and a lick of some leftover gray paint, done. It now sits up in my office, but I'm thinking about finding another one to make a pair of bedside tables.
Have a great day! Back on Friday.

cute! i love roadside finds!
Awesome job rescuing it! It looks great! I never find anything on the side of the road - I'm always amazed at the things people find (and what some people will just throw out). Maybe I've been looking in the wrong neighbourhoods... :)
wao! Am one of street admirer! That piece after your touch looks stunning!
What an amazing find! And I love what you've done with it. Living in rural Wales there's not much to find by the road but weeds!
that is soooo lovely - I found a similar 50 three tier wire on the roadside a couple of years back - I regifted to a friend:)
do you have road side pick ups with the council ... last one we had I found a set of shelves - very narrow - just right for hot wheel car display and a three tier cane stand almost six foot - great for soft toys :) best le xox
oh i wish i was that lucky! but sadly i'm not, however the ebay gods are sometimes quite kind i must admit!
great score darl, love it.
and that peach below is making me seriously hungry!!
I found a lovely Chinese Chippendale bamboo chair down the road and brought it home and had the seat recovered in a leopard print chenille. When my neighbors came for dinner they were shocked to see "their" old chair looking so fabulous and wanted it back. I let them sit on it whenever they come over, but I will never give it back.
I havn't seen a plant stand like that before. It does look great now it has had a little facelift and restyling.
Nice! Great find!
I sometimes take wooden furniture off the side of the road, but I haven't found anything good in awhile.
Yes please! I'll have one just like it! What a treasure.
lucky you- it looks great! i never find stuff like that on the side of the road. just old, wet sofas that are probably housing all sorts of bugs and animals......
Oh, yes! :D I love what you made out of it. So tylish...
You think, you'll be able to find exactly the same style again? -I hope so for you!
I got my granite bedside-table that way, 7 years ago. It was standing outside of a government building near my old apartment, waiting to be taken by the local rubbish-collector. :'(
And that old, huge vintage mirror, I brought it home to my mother's place with a discarted shopping trolley. She so loved it & we cleaned it together just to be on the safe side. :D
But here you have to be careful, you can get reported to the police. It even can go so far, as in that you have to pay a fine.
Don't ask me why though, our law makers must be either smoke the wrong stuff or be lunatics. :D
My bet is on the latter though...
Oh wish we could have met sooner. I threw away one of thoes (or maybe goodwilled it) that was in its perfect white state about a year ago now. Single owner at least it was until I inherited from my grandma.
I love road side finds I have a little small chair I need to DIY maybe I will do it now.
I love the way this turned out so pretty and you styled it just superb!
I never find things on the side of the road! You've definitely brought your new-found plant stand back to life. I so prefer the grey colour it is now, and it looks terrific the way you've styled it. Where would you find a matching one for bedside tables??

Wow! That is so charming! Great work on fixing it up!
Last summer, I drove by a teak desk sitting on the sidewalk about 5 times. Finally, after thinking about it all day, I hopped in my truck to make it mine and as I pulled up someone was already loading it into their car. I'm still kicking myself.
I love this transformation! Perfect! I am going today too some sales to see what bargain I come up with!

wow what a find! Love it there! I found 2 danish modern dining chairs that we re-upholstered... that was my one and only good roadside "find"
i love this makeover Janis! If you call inheriting pieces from in-laws, then yes, I have updated some freebies. Sometimes, I post about them in my diy posts.
Just adore it!
